Bosch dishwasher error codes
6 codes, 13 owner checks, every one restated from a Bosch support page for the United States and linked below with the date it was read. Nothing here comes from a forum, a repair blog or a service manual, and this site adds no step Bosch does not list.
Every verified Bosch dishwasher code
| Code | Also shown as | What Bosch says it means | Owner checks |

| E16 | E17 | Water is not flowing into the dishwasher correctly. | 1 |
| E18 | — | Water is not reaching or being pumped through the dishwasher correctly. | 2 |
| E22 | — | The dishwasher filter is blocked. | 2 |

If your display shows something else
Bosch shows the same fault under different strings on different models. Every variant recorded on these pages is below, with the code page that carries it. This site does not split a fault into one page per variant.
| On the display | Page to read |
|---|---|
| E17 | Bosch E16: Water is not flowing into the dishwasher correctly. |
How far Bosch's own pages go
This matters more than the code itself, and it is the one thing a code list usually leaves out. For some of these codes Bosch's page is a complete answer; for others it stops well before the problem does. Two separate things are worth knowing before you click: whether Bosch names a service route at the end, and how many owner checks it gives you before that.
All 6 of these codes end at a service route Bosch names itself. Where that happens, the red box at the foot of the decision tree is Bosch's own instruction, restated, not a judgement made here.
The 2 with a single owner check
Bosch lists exactly one owner check for these. If that check does not settle it, its page has nothing further for an owner, and neither does this site. What a service call would be dealing with instead is named after each one.
- E15Water was detected in the base; the leak protection system has activated. Everything after the water is off: finding the leak, draining the base, the float switch. Bosch's owner page does not describe any of it.
- E16Water is not flowing into the dishwasher correctly. The water inlet valve, the flow meter and anything behind the panels. Bosch's page lists one owner check and stops.
If your code is not on this page
It means no Bosch page for it had been read when this list was built, not that the code is unimportant. The code lookup will say so plainly and point you at the Bosch pages this site has read, and the methodology page lists what was deliberately left out and why. Whatever the code, when to stop and call a technician applies.

A list page exists here only for a brand and appliance with at least 6 verified codes. Not yet reviewed by an appliance technician. Model-specific pages are not built until that review happens (see /methodology/). Model-specific pages are not built: see sources and review.
