- 1Unplug for 10 seconds, then power on
LG says to unplug the washer for 10 seconds, plug it back in and press power.
- 2Select no spin
Press the spin speed button until no spin is selected.
- 3After the washer drains, restart the wash cycle
LG lists this as the last owner step.

Where to stop
LG's list says to close the water taps and unplug the washer if tE continues, but gives no service instruction in the tE section itself. Editorial boundary: with the taps closed and the washer unplugged, the next step is to request service through LG support.
Not covered here, on purpose: The thermistor, the heater and their wiring. LG names the thermistor as the likely fault but describes no owner test for it. Read when to stop and call a technician.
Same code, different meaning on other brands
None of the other brands in the verified set (Bosch, Samsung, Whirlpool) uses tE on the official pages read for this site. If your display shows tE on a different brand, do not apply these checks; use the lookup or that brand's own support page.
