LG washer error codes
16 codes, 44 owner checks, every one restated from a LG support page for the United States and linked below with the date it was read. Nothing here comes from a forum, a repair blog or a service manual, and this site adds no step LG does not list.
LG publishes its own list of these codes, and it is the first thing worth reading: LG Front Load Washer - Error Code List(New). What the pages below add is one screen per code: the checks in LG's order, drawn as a decision tree with its exits marked, and a plain statement of where LG's own page stops.
Every verified LG washer code

| FF | u51 | A freeze failure: the washer is too cold to run. | 4 |
| IE | E02, E10 | The washer did not fill with water in time. | 4 |

If your display shows something else
LG shows the same fault under different strings on different models. Every variant recorded on these pages is below, with the code page that carries it. This site does not split a fault into one page per variant.
| On the display | Page to read |
|---|---|
| dE1 | LG dE: The washer door did not lock. |
| dE2 | LG dE: The washer door did not lock. |
| E01 | LG dE: The washer door did not lock. |
| E02 | LG IE: The washer did not fill with water in time. |
| E04 | LG FE: Too much water entered the drum. |
| E10 | LG IE: The washer did not fill with water in time. |
| E12 | LG FE: Too much water entered the drum. |
| E30 | LG dE: The washer door did not lock. |
| E33 | LG PE: A water level sensor fault. |
| u51 | LG FF: A freeze failure: the washer is too cold to run. |
| Ub | LG UE: The washer could not balance the load for spin. |
How far LG's own pages go
This matters more than the code itself, and it is the one thing a code list usually leaves out. For some of these codes LG's page is a complete answer; for others it stops well before the problem does. Two separate things are worth knowing before you click: whether LG names a service route at the end, and how many owner checks it gives you before that.
11 of these 16 codes end at a service route LG names itself. Where that happens, the red box at the foot of the decision tree is LG's own instruction, restated, not a judgement made here.
The 5 where LG names no service step
For these, LG's page gives no instruction for what to do when the checks fail — in several cases because it treats the code as a setting or a normal mode rather than a fault. Those pages say so, and the stop point on them is this site's editorial boundary, labelled as such on the page, not LG's.
- CLNot a fault: the child lock is on.
- IEThe washer did not fill with water in time.
- SudToo many suds were detected.
- tCLNot a fault: a tub clean is due.
- tEA heating error, usually a faulty thermistor.
The 4 with a single owner check
LG lists exactly one owner check for these. If that check does not settle it, its page has nothing further for an owner, and neither does this site. What a service call would be dealing with instead is named after each one.
- CEOver-current in the motor circuit. The motor, its wiring and the control board. A short or a ground fault is live-electrical work: this site does not describe any of it.
- CLNot a fault: the child lock is on. Nothing. CL is a setting on LG's list, not a fault.
- OPnThe detergent drawer is not fully inserted. The drawer sensor and the dispenser assembly. LG's list stops at closing the drawer.
- PEA water level sensor fault. The water level (pressure) sensor, its hose and the control board. LG lists one reset for the owner and nothing else.
If your code is not on this page
It means no LG page for it had been read when this list was built, not that the code is unimportant. The code lookup will say so plainly and point you at the LG pages this site has read, and the methodology page lists what was deliberately left out and why. Whatever the code, when to stop and call a technician applies.
