Codes / Whirlpool / Washer (front load)
Whirlpool LoC: Not a fault: the control lock is on.
Whirlpool's page says this is not an error. It means the control lock is activated, so the controls will not respond, and the code is a reminder to deactivate the lock.

Fault isolation, in Whirlpool's order
- Owner check from Whirlpool's page
- Observation Whirlpool asks you to make
- Request service: technician only beyond here
- Code should clear
The checks, with Whirlpool's detail
- 1Touch and hold Control Lock for 3 seconds
Whirlpool says the display counts down 3, 2, 1 and then shows LC or LoC, and that during the countdown you can still touch START to pause the cycle or POWER to turn the washer off.
- Do the controls still not respond?
Where to stop
Whirlpool's page says to contact it or schedule service with a provider from its preferred list (service.whirlpool.com, whirlpool.com/contact-us).
Not covered here, on purpose: The control panel. LoC is a setting on Whirlpool's page, not a fault, and this site adds nothing to the unlock sequence. Read when to stop and call a technician.
